Senior Accountant / Financial Accountant (m/f/d)

Requirements:

Completed training in taxation or business studies with a focus on accounting Alternatively: commercial training with further training as an accountant or tax clerk At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in finance and accounting, ideally in a medium-sized company Very good German skills (at least C1) and good English skills (at least B2) Confident use of DATEV and common MS Office programs, especially Excel Structured, independent, and precise way of working

You will be the point of contact for management in accounting matters and ensure that accounting routines are carried out correctly and on time. Your tasks will include posting all current business transactions in DATEV in accordance with HGB, monitoring accounts payable, reconciling accounts, and preparing outgoing invoices, including dunning. You will ensure that all accounts payable documents are complete at the end of the month, clarify open items, prepare payment transactions, and assist with payroll accounting. You will also play an active role in the further development and automation of processes and accounting systems.

Your responsibilities

LEAV is a German airline based in Cologne. From Cologne/Bonn Airport (CGN), LEAV currently operates two Airbus A320 aircraft on short- and medium-haul routes within Europe.

Requirements:

You have basic knowledge of EASA Regulation 965
2012 (in particular Part-ORO) as well as document management and document revision. You are comfortable working with electronic systems from the MS365 package and communicating precisely in writing with contractual partners. You are willing to participate in audits and inspections and have experience in documentation processes, agile project management, and working with technical service providers. You have a keen interest in new technologies and innovations, and your working style is analytical, independent, meticulous, and results-oriented. You have excellent English skills, team spirit, and strong communication and coordination skills. Ideally, you have training or a degree related to aviation law—alternatively, you have experience in an industry with comparable quality requirements.

You will work across departments with Flight Operations, Crew Training, Ground Operations, Safety, and Compliance, and as the central point of contact, you will coordinate the implementation of new legal and internal requirements in the department. You will network relevant stakeholders across processes (Flight Ops, Ground Ops, IT) to identify and implement optimization potential at interfaces. In addition, you will prepare operation manuals and other documents in collaboration with the specialist departments, maintain the flight report system, analyze flight safety-related reports in accordance with EU OPS, and forward relevant data to the LBA.
